Brought inside to weigh since had LOs, as well as examine eyes.
I did not get a great look at either eye, bird was very reactive and I was having a hard time focusing. I did think that the back of both eyes might be a little indistinct, but I was unable to see anything definitive that would make me think bird would not be a good candidate for rehab. Given overall uncertainty I do recommend mouse school for this bird.
Also, this bird is huge and has gained a lot of weight! May need a diet..
Removed tail sheath. Move somewhere bigger when room. Dr Gardner

BAR, flying and running around. Dr. G's notes are pending, but bird seems to be doing well overall. Eyes aren't much of a concern. Scrubbed and flushed R shoulder wound and applied Silver Gel. Left uncovered. NOLO. Removed remnants of saddle wrap. Kept tail guard on.

Examined eyes briefly - bird was very reactive and I couldn't get a great look inside the eyes, but I didn't see any blood clots, just a little whispyness.
The wound on the R shoulder is superficial, the skin around is adhered to the edges, and I think it will granulate well. Cleaned and put Silver gel on it. Continue this EOD, I think will heal well.
The coracoid fracture is nicely aligned - the saddle wrap was detached anyway and I would just leave off. Dr Gardner

BAR, standing. NOLO. Brought in for wound care and PT. Placed under 3% ISO via mask. The R shoulder has a dry shallow scab with the edges starting to lift up. Scrubbed/flushed and then was able to gently pull the scab off. There is a good blood supply with fresh blood pooling quickly once removed. Added a small piece of hydrocolloid dressing with silver gel, telfa and tega. Applied figure 8 with body for coracoid fx. Cleaned off beak and removed tail wrap for the time being. Work up well.

BAR, hunched down in back. Brought inside for bandage change. Scabs look good, smaller scab fell off after photo, looked great underneath - just two tiny wounds. Larger scab is still slightly open; scrubbed gently and flushed well. Applied silver gel, telfa, tega and rewrapped wing. Full ext, flapping.

Right humerus: dried blood caked at shoulder/proximal humerus. No open wounds, but scabby area, possibly road rash.

Ectoparasites: flat flies

Young COHA picked up from middle of the road. Finders reportedly wrapped this bird up in an ACE bandage, RRT vol removed it. Upon admission, BAR and bitey. Scrubbed R shoulder with chlorhex, and left area uncovered. Wrapped L wing in fig 8 in case wrist is fx. Set up in KR2 kennel, perched.
